My Therapy

Tonight, I left.

Actually, Hubs took all the kids Christmas shopping--All. Four. Kids.

They went out to shop for me (Yippee!), and I'm amazed at how I'm rubbing off on him. I offered him a fistfull of coupons for different stores around town. I don't know which ones he took, but I do know that he said a $30 gift for me turned into a $5 one. I told him he's not done shopping then.

So while he was stressing it up at the mall, I was lazing it up at home. I got my coupons all organized, my shopping trip all laid out, and I can't put into words how nice i was to shop at such a leisure pace without a baby pulling out all my coupons!

So, here it is.

The CVS Haul:

I spent $3.24!!!
I saved $41.83!!
They did not have my free contact solution, for the third week in a row now, nor did they have my free sleepmd stuff and my free EARinse. Like I NEED those things? But hey, they're free, and I actually remembered to get a raincheck for them all. I did forget the raincheck for the mascara I wanted, but I'm going to go back tomorrow to do that. These were my very first rainchecks ever. (And I price matched one thing at Walmart tonight for the first time ever too. I'm getting BRAVE!!) And the guy who checked me out tonight was the same one from Black Friday. I walked up to the register and he said, "Hey, I remember you! You had all the stuff and the Bite Me shirt!" Then he turned to the cashier next to him and said, "Watch and Learn." He even asked where my friend from last time was. I think we made an impression, Erin!
The Kroger Haul:

I also came out with a HUGE pack of steaks (should feed my fam for three or four nights!), two dozen eggs and a loaf of bread. I spent about $20.
But the toilet paper was free, with an overage of like 31 cents, I only spent like 1.25 apiece for each of the Gillette Body Washes (Hubs is gonna be smelling GOOD! *wink*) and like just a few cents for the other washes. I'd give ya the right totals, but I can't find the receipt. Bummer.
The Walmart Haul:

Now. This is in no way a comprehensive pic of my trip. But I did cut a full $20 off my bill with coupons, and I got some GREAT deals!
All the sausage you see? They had them on sale for $2 apiece. Last week when I hit Kroger, they had the sausage on sale along with a blinkie (coupons on the shelf) full of q's for it. I took like 6 extras, and so tonight, I got all the sausages for only a buck apeice! That's a deal.
The beggin strips only cost me 12 cents apiece, the Glade candles were a dollar, the Arm and Hammer cleaner was free, the carefree was free, the baking soda was a overage of like 20 cents, the baby microwave buckets were 6 cents apiece and the sugar cookie mix was 9 cents.

This is totally a cheesy rush, but I'm completely addicted. And hey, it made me feel better. At least for tonight! (But then what would you expect when I skipped out on dinner and bedtimes of Four kids! You Bet I'm feeling good!)

You no longer wear the title, "newbie." You're saving like you've done this your whole life!! I'm so impressed! And, it's soooo totally therapuetic!

I did this a few weeks back when Kmart had double coupons and we have enough shampoo to last 47 years and TONS of makeup. The toothpaste is down to 3 tubes though, so I hope a deal comes along soon. Hubs asked last nigh....Did we need this? My answer, no but it was free and I can donate some of it.

Hey Laura, what's your best advice for someone starting coupon shopping!?
