It's been way too long since I've updated. But I'm still out there bargain shopping! I'm still loving it. I'm trying to figure out how to get a subscription to the Houston paper, for Sunday's, without paying the mail order subscription rate. I can't find a place in town that sells it either. We're not that far away! I was hoping a friend's husband, who works over there every other week, would pick us up one on his way home, but he's totally uninterested in doing that. My other thought is to pay for a subscription to go to my mom's house, and have her save the coupons for me. I just wouldn't get the inserts right away--it'd be a couple of weeks behind. So I'm still looking. Any ideas?
My goal for this year is to cut our grocery budget. We were spending at least $600 a month on groceries (easily). I want to spend $100 a week on grocery/household. I'm also doing it in cash so I can't go over, and I can keep up with it easier. This past week was my first week doing it. It was awesome!! I spent just under the $100, and got lots of extras. I think next week will be just as great too.
I have noticed that it's getting easier for me to do my shopping planning. In the beginning it took Hours. I mean HOURS to clip the coupons, organize them, go through the ads and match them with what I have and make my lists. Now I'm zipping through them much faster and not spending much time at all. I guess practice does really make perfect!

I REALLY want you to come over or I will come there and you show me exactly what you do. I am dying and want to cut my grocery budget, too. How exciting.
