I'm still on the shopping train, even though I've totally slacked on my posting. Last week I did CVS twice (actually it was three times! LOL) I managed to find all my deals and spend nothing on them. somewhere in the neighborhood of $175 of stuff for about $5 out of pocket. I've been so busy though, that I didn't take any pictures, so I don't have the details very easily.
I've been getting $100 in cash every Monday to spend for the week on food, and so far I've done well sticking to it. This even includes fast food--or at least the fast food I'VE purchased for myself and the kids. Hubs is doing what he wants, but then he's the checkbook master right now, so more power to him!
I'm trying to get back in the swing of things with my blogging, and I'm getting there. But it's hard. I've been cleaning out my closet for over a week now, and it's BAD! When we moved in I was pregnant and sick, so in the interest of living in our bedroom comfortably, hubs packed the closet down the best he could, and we said, "We'll deal with it later."
Well, two years later, the time has arrived. I had him move some shelves around and we've unloaded the closet. Unfortunately, this means you can't see my bedroom floor. We've got a path cleared to my side of the bed, and his, and to the bathroom. That's it. I've been able to spare about 10 minutes a day to work on it, and I have made major progress. I've gone through all my clothes, and packed up Boxes of things too big for me!
That feels great. Except that what it leaves is, uh, next to nothing. Luckily, it's clearance time everywhere! So I've been doing some shopping and trying to balance it with my budget of nothing. It's working. I can dress myself in clothes that don't fall off again!
I went in NY&C this weekend to get a black skirt. I pulled the size 4 and 6 off the rack to try on, and had go out and get a size 2! What the Heck?? Yes! The two is actually a bit roomy, but it works! Only in this skirt, though. I bought it and didn't care that it wasn't on sale! I wish I could wear it inside out with the tag showing to everyone! (I did have a fantastic coupon, though, that took my $80 total down to $50 after taxes!) (And don't worry, I'm so NOT a size 2, it's just this one fantastic skirt! lol)
And I discovered that if you take your penny jar to the coinstar machine, the sorting is free if you put the money on a giftcard. I got about $40 on an Old Navy card last week from this, so I had a great shopping trip to Old Navy this weekend too.
The only trouble is that none of the spring/summer clothes are on sale, and well, I don't have any of those either! It's all winter sales. Yikes!

A size 2?!! Oh, come on! Go eat a brownie! Or, some cake! Or, go get one of your m&m sonic blasts! A size 2??!! Sheesh!
Keep it up! You're my inspiration!
It really has been a long while since she had an M&M Blast. But, hey, we got two cakes and ice cream from the kids b-day party. I am guessing that we will end up with another cake for Ashley's official b-day.
